Cardiff Startup Europe Week
An event organized for the first time under the endorsement of the European Commission
Startup Europe Week, over 40+ Countries 200+ Cities.
Startup Europe Week is a massive series of meetups happening in over 250 regions with the support of more than 400 organizers happening from 1-5 February 2016.
The purpose of this initiative is to make founders and perspective entrepreneurs aware of the existing resources available in their region and at the European level.
The Startup Europe Week will reinforce the local ecosystem and connect all European regions to help startups flourish and ultimately to provide entrepreneurs a soft-landing support in other markets.

Startup Europe Week is an initiative of Startup Europe – European Commission, with the support of the Committee of the regions, representing European regional and local authorities.
Creating a series of initiatives all over Europe in the week 1-5 February 2016, focused on getting together local / regional authorities / “ecosystem players” to present resources available to local entrepreneurs (e.g. local grants, subsidies, office spaces funding opportunities, etc.).
Many global initiatives have been created to celebrate entrepreneurship. Typically, such events follow the Silicon Valley format (keynote motivational speeches, networking sessions etc).
But Europe is different and requires something more when it comes to starting a business. Regional diversity and local policy making play a big role in shaping European startups. European regions are key players, from helping entrepreneurs to incorporate a company, to providing grants or taxes breaks. That is why we think it is critical to include the regions in this conversation. And that is exactly why we created the Startup Europe Week.
As a Local Organizer Cardiff Startup Europe Week, I am currently preparing the agenda for this fantastic inaugural event.
